trystan was for a game a coworker was running at lunch, and darcy was for a homebrew worldbuilding a friend was running based on,,,, i don't remember what the base system was.

trystan is a warlock whose parents were university wizards who wanted her to study (ugh) so she made a pact to be able to dupe them with her mAD MaGiC SkILlS, DAD. she /is/ in fact, just Like That. quickly became the baby of the party (as she was designed to be)

darcy is a gods-favored natural healer, which is the only way he was ever going to possibly survive to adulthood, as he has never encountered a cliff he did not want to jump off, a potentially trapped door he wants to facecheck, or an ominous dark cave he immediately simply MUST enter.

okay so ik she was evil and yk very casual about killing and brainwashing people and generally just committing war crimes at the drop of a hat but darcy genuinely slays SO hard

like ESPECIALLY these cunty glasses from s2 I am in LOVE with this look she pulls off the glasses so well I wish she wore them more in the later seasons.

im genuinely obsessed with her like what is that cunty purple eyeshadow and that weird purple choker thing why is she pulling it off so well I'm crying???

like the trix were always really cunty and honestly they ate the winx up every time but DARCY has never not slayed look at this girl she is actually unmatched.

Funny idea Darcy is severely nearsighted unless she’s in her trix form. Her civilian form wears enchanted prescription glasses.

Sometimes she’ll just go to sleep forgetting that the spell to improve her eyesight wears off and then wakes up blind as a bat without her glasses.

Stormy has done a few pranks on her when that happens

i guess it would be kind of funny if she decided her signature look as witch of darkness would include sunglasses in the same vein Stormy's signature look is clearly a sunny weather outfit. but no, i want her to actually need them

she's either Extremely sensitive to light or actually near/far sighted. or both, best version, my hc. her witch from just does the glasses job via magic and she doesn't need them

tbf the light sensitivity has just been one of those long running hcs i apply to everything and don't tend to consciously think about anymore. the real fun is the 'vision so bad she'd run into a desk without them' flavour of it you're so right anon

Darcy Palmer is a ruthless, cold-hearted man. He runs a hitman agency that Gardenia was using to try to kill her daughter, Amy Lindsay. Despite this, Amy got recruited by him [under the threat of death], and ended up one of his top employees. He's currently leading her on to believe that they're in some sort of relationship, purely so he can easily manipulate her and use her in any way he so pleases. He's done reprehensible things to Amy, and makes her think they're completely normal.

Darcy wouldn't even advocate for monster rights if you paid him to. The lack of any rights [and subsequent systematic oppression] for monsterkind makes more of them flock to illegal jobs, so why would he want that to stop? He's even had surgeries to flatten his teeth and takes a human form so he's not subject to the prejudice he perpetuates.

Have had several Asks about where I get my clothes, so here we go.

My general style:

My build: I am 5'10", around 155-160lbs. I am a trans man, so that means some fit challenges. 36R tops, 32x32 bottoms, 8ish shoe.

My preferences: I adore 1930s/40s outdoor "country gentleman" and work wear -- I am building a wardrobe here. I love texture and mixing patterns. I try to stick to natural fibers. I am spending more money on pieces that last longer and shrinking my closet to a modern capsule and a vintage capsule. (Though I will sometimes mix eras.) Brown is my favorite color.

Online thrifting:

Unclaimed baggage. Really great for giving higher end brands a shot at huge discounts.

Gem App. Fantastic for searching multiple sites like ebay, poshmark, etc.

Modern clothing:

Taylor Stitch. Standouts are sweaters and wool trousers. Sizing runs trim - I size up to a 38 here instead of my usual 36. This means it's a great source for smaller trans mascs.

Yiume. Shirts a bit thin, but fun prints and frequent sales.

Imperfects. Small range, but fun, higher waisted fishtail trousers.

Taft Boots. Comfy right out of the box. Great at making small feet look elegant. Men's sizes start at a 6.

Schott. Fantastic pea coats. Recommended by Derek Menswear.

Vermont Flannel. Super thick plaid, flannel shirts. Very warm.

Sterkowski hats. Range includes flat caps and captains/fisherman.

Spier & MacKay. Great winter coats, run a bit trim. Their trousers look hideous and despite a bit of a vintage look, everything else in the catalog is too low waisted and skinny.

LLBean. Great for sweaters. I love my grey commando style one.

Banana Republic. I like a lot of their older stuff, so a brand to watch on Poshmark.

New Vintage:

Cathcart London. Sweaters and jeans are great. Hit or miss fit on the rest. Frequent sales, small runs.

Darcy Clothing. Great all across the board. They are a film supplier, so restocks are regular. Their suspenders are hard to find, fyi, so search under "braces".

Revival Vintage. Dipping into poly blends, but a great selection of fairisle sweater vests.

JoBear boots. Great prices and styles, requires breaking in.

Focusers. Vintage glasses. They will replace lenses. Love the Peabody gold wire frames.

Old Glasses Shop. Frames you won't find at Focusers. You can try on frames before committing to an Rx, but have to pay for the return. Love their round tortoise shells.
